9 Days Uganda Primates Safari is one of the futuristic Uganda Safari package that ushers you to the most renowned Uganda Safari destinations, with Bwindi Mountain Gorillas topping the highlights of this Safari.

On your 9 Days  Uganda primate experience, you will visit kibale forest national park to meet chimps in their natural home with other 12 primate species also seen in kibale national park it is commonly known as primate of the world and also known as prime birding destination. You will then proceed to queen Elizabeth national park for wildlife experience and encounter at least big 5 and then continue to bwindi to meet the endangered mountain gorilla drive through Ishasha sector for tree climbing lions and finally to lake mburo national park for impalas and zebras.

Day 1. Arrival

On your arrival at Entebbe Airport, you will be welcomed/picked up by your guide for transfer to your hotel in Kampala. On this day you will be briefed about your whole tour. Depending on the time of arrival, you may go for a Kampala city tour leading you to the Buganda palace, Kampala city center, Uganda martyrs’ shrine Namugongo and Gadaffi Mosque.

Day 2. Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park

Having had breakfast at leisure, you will be transferred to Queen Elizabeth National park arriving in time for lunch. After lunch, you will have a boat trip on the Kazinga channel. This is the water stream that joins lakes Edward and George and is said to have the largest concentration of hippos in the world. It is also known as the CENTER OF ECOLOGY due to many animals and bird species recorded on its banks. Other animals to see include; crocodiles, monitor lizards, We then check into our lodge for evening accommodation.

Day 3. Full day Game drive and visit a Salt Lake

We wake up early for a morning game drive to search for the early risers. This is the best time to spot predators such as lions, leopards and the spotted hyena. Other mammals to see include; buffaloes, waterbucks, elephants, kobs, warthogs and so on. We then later visit Lake Munyanyange to see flamingos. Having had lunch, we proceed to the Katwe Salt Lake. This Lake has been in existence since the 16th century and is responsible for the survival of people in Katwe village. You will see/get to know how local salt is extracted and made ready for consumption and sale in this area. We end our day with an evening game drive in the Kabatoro sector which is famous for large herds of elephants and is also a feeding ground for hippos. This evening, be ready to take a picture of a feeding hippo.

Day 4 Chimpanzee tracking and transfer to Ishasha

After breakfast, we prepare ourselves for the once in a life time experience (chimpanzee tracking). You may track the chimps in the Kyambura Gorge or Imaramagambo Forest or Kalinzu Forest; the choice is yours. This activity is a bit challenging but very rewarding, so expect to walk for one to six hours depending on where the chimps will be on this day. Having encountered them, you will have a full hour with them. The chimpanzees’ behavior can provide a clue to that of our early ancestors. We have lunch and then travel to Ishasha, the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. This area is famous for the rare tree climbing lions which tend to climb fig trees to escape the mid-day sun. Other mammals here include; elephants, buffaloes, topi, waterbucks and so on.

Day 5. Transfer to Bwindi

Today, you will have an early morning breakfast a game drive around this section of the park and then travel to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. On your way there, you will see beautiful sceneries, the ever green plant cover which Uganda is known for and the terraced hills. Bwindi Impenatrable forest is home to more than half of the world’s surviving mountain gorillas, many other primates and over 380 bird species. Arrival will be in the late afternoon and then check in your lodge to relax.

Day 6. Gorilla tracking.

After a mighty breakfast prepared by your accommodation, we report at the gorilla tracking starting point for a short briefing. You then enter the Impenetrable forest with your packed lunch to search for the endangered mountain gorillas. Be ready to walk for 45 minutes to 5 hours depending on where you will find the gorillas that day. Having encountered them, you will be given a full hour to interact with gorillas and then return to your accommodation. In case you return early, you will enjoy cultural dances from the local community before relaxing at your lodge.

Day 7: Lake Bunyonyi.

After having breakfast at leisure, you will be led by your guide to Uganda’s deepest and most beautiful lake. It is also known as ‘THE LAKE OF 100 ISLANDS’. This is some where you will feel relaxed after the tracking activities in Bwindi. While there, you can join a number of optional activities including, canoeing, bird watching, hiking to the nearby falls and forests, visiting a Batwa community, swimming and so on. Note that only Lake Bunyonyi and Lake Mutanda have been proved bilharzias free in Uganda and are safe to swim in.

Day 8 Transfer to Lake Mburo

After having a leisure breakfast, we embark on a journey to Lake Mburo National park. This is where you will be able to see zebras, giraffes, elands and so on. Other animals include buffaloes, warthogs, hippos, waterbucks, impalas and so on. After having lunch, you are to have a 2 hours’ boat trip on Lake Mburo to search for crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes, water birds and so much more and then relax at the lodge for overnight.

Day 9 Transfer to Kampala. – 9 Days Uganda Primates Safari

After having breakfast, we embark on the long journey back to Entebbe so as to catch your flight back home. Enroute we shall have a stop at Kayabwe (equator village). Equator is the point at which the earth is divided into the northern and southern hemispheres and is the latitude marked 00 on the world map. You will be transferred to the airport or hotel of your choice in Entebbe or Kampala hence end of service.
