Chimpanzee Tracking experience in Kibale Forest National Park, you will have the opportunity to follow an experienced guide into the forest to observe these fascinating creatures at a close range.

We keep a lookout for Red Colobus monkeys and visit Uganda’s most popular game reserve, Queen Elizabeth National Park, where we have the opportunity to take a boat ride amid Africa’s largest hippo population.

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, is a designated World Heritage Park and is home to just over half the world’s mountain gorilla population.

You will be able to participate in Gorilla trekking in the Bwindi forests, Chimp tracking in Kibale Forest, and Game drives in Murchison and Queen Elizabeth National parks. While on this safari, expect to see a myriad of wildlife species including the mountain gorillas, chimpanzees, buffaloes, lions, leopards, hyenas, waterbucks, elephants, bushbucks, Uganda kobs, giraffes, zebras, Nile crocodiles, and Hippos as well as spectacular bird species.

DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe and Transfer to Kampala/Entebbe to your Accomodation

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport at 22:15pm with Brussels Airline, you will be met by a Tubale Safaris Driver-Guide who will welcome you to Uganda – the Pearl of Africa.

Thereafter, you will be transferred to your Booked accommodation for relaxation and overnight at either Kampala or Entebbe.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park eith en-route Rhino Trekking at Ziwa

You will embark on your 7hr journey northwards to the renowned Murchison Falls national park, with a stopover for your lunch in Masindi. You will go through the Luwero, and later have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino tracking; here you will find both black and white rhinos. Later arrive in Murchison falls national park. Murchison Falls is Uganda’s largest well- protected wildlife area covering 3,840 sq km. Move to the top of the falls to view the natural beauty of these falls. At this place, the river squeezes itself through a 7-meter narrow gorge from a width of more than 1 km and drops below with a thunderous roar forming a water spray that rainbow that results in a stunning rainbow the wonders of Nile River! Dine and rest.

Day 3: Morning Game drive and Afternoon Boat Safari to the base of the Falls

Have an early delicious breakfast, explore the Northern part hosting a high number of Savannah wildlife. This game drive offers great opportunities for photography of elephants, lions, Uganda Kobs, buffaloes, giraffes, waterbucks as well as hippos, and in case you are fortunate to even the leopards, in addition to a big number of bird species.

Following lunch, have a 2-3hour boat cruise to the bottom of the Murchison falls from where great volumes water escapes through the small gorge forming an immense thunderous roar.

During this boat ride, you will see several water birds plus mammals in big numbers like Hippos and crocodiles. Head back to the lodge have dinner and rest at your lodge.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

Have breakfast in the morning and thereafter, embark on your Journey to Kibale forest National Park. Have Lunch at Fort Portal and proceed in the view of the Rwenzori Mountains. Dinner and overnight stay at Bigodi.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Swamp Walk

Today you will track the most famous inhabitants of Kibale National Park, the chimpanzees. Chimpanzees share 98% of human genes making them our closest living relatives. They are found in 21 countries throughout Africa, but are most easily sighted in Uganda due to their dense populations. Today, in Uganda, there are approximately 5,000 chimpanzees left in the wild. The Chimpanzee Trekking experience here is done on several well-maintained walking trails. There is also a wonderfully diverse concentration of other primates, more than any other forest in East Africa, in fact. Besides our delightful cousins, the chimpanzees, you can find red colobus, red- tailed guenon, white-nosed monkey, gray-cheeked mangabey, blue monkey, L’Hoest’s monkey, and the black and white colobus monkey. In addition, you may see olive baboons, bush babies and nocturnal pottos.

After tracking, you have the opportunity for a guided walk through the swamps of Bigodi swamps. This activity will take you to the Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary which features 8 primate species, over 200 bird species and many reptiles. During the walk – which takes 2 to 3 hours – you have a chance to many animals but the highlight is catching a glimpse of a famous bird; the Great Blue Turaco. Thereafter, Dinner and Overnight at your Lodge.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Scenic Queen Elizabeth National Park is located in southwestern Uganda and is most often included in visitors’ itineraries. It is the second largest park in the country and is located at the base of the majestic Rwenzori Mountain range, next to Lake Edward and Lake George which are joined by the Kazinga channel. Few reserves in the world have such high biodiversity with landscapes including savannah, bushland, wetlands, and lush forests.

On your first game drive, it is time to explore Queen Elizabeth National Park with 200 kilometres of well-maintained game viewing tracks. We advise for you to be alert and proactive on your game drive to help the ranger spot as many animals as possible. With an astonishing 5000 hippos, 2500 elephants, and over 10,000 buffalo thriving in its grasslands and shorelines, this park guarantees sightings of some of Africa’s most iconic species. All being well you see elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, different species of antelope, and just maybe some of the exciting predators such as; lion, leopard, civet, genal and serval cats.

Ten species of primates enjoy the park’s diverse habitats. Vervet and black-and-white colobus monkeys are easily spotted in the trees and of course the boldest species; baboons! They are all there! A professional ranger with extensive knowledge of the park and its inhabitants will join you in your car so you can ask your guide to search for specific birdlife or wildlife.

Day 7: Queen’s Game drive & Afternoon Boat Safari along the Famous Kazinga Channel

After an early breakfast, you will go for a long morning game drive at 6.30am in time to catch up with the early risers and see the sunrise as well whereby you will search for all the wildlife in the park; Elephant, Buffalo, Lion, Waterbuck, Leopard, Uganda Kob, Warthog, etc. After lunch, you will take a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel in the afternoon and you will see a lot of hippos (more than you can possibly imagine), as well as a variety of other animals that come to the water channel to drink or bathe. You can expect to see: Buffalo, Crocodile, bathing Elephant, and a range of beautiful birds.

This will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of your tour. After the boat-safari, you do a short evening game drive as you drive back to the lodge. If time permits, you will then have an evening Game Drive.

Day 8: Morning Game Drive and Transfer to Bwindi Forest via Ishasha Sector for tree-climbing lions.

On this day have an early breakfast, Enjoy the Morning Game Drive and drive to Bwindi impenetrable Forest via Ishasha region in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth to see tree- climbing lions that are prevalent in this area. Continue to where you will have lunch along the way. Have a community walk (the Batwa -Pygmy cultural experience and entertainment) in the evening. Enjoy dinner and rest at the lodge.

Day 9: An epic Gorilla Trekking Experience in Bwindi Forest/Batwa Cultural Experience

After an early breakfast and your packed lunch ready, you will walk slowly to the park headquarters for briefing by the park rangers after which we will head out to track the mystical creatures. The beauty of this rainforest is spectacular! The area offers a dramatic steeply forested landscape and is incredibly dense, but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists.

The time taken and the terrain varies with the movements of these great primates. Once you locate a gorilla trekking tour group, you will be allowed an hour in their presence. Enjoy your packed lunch with these mystical creatures. The thrill of spending time observing these gentle and endangered giants is an awesome, exciting experience to be long-savoured. Thereafter, we shall transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for the Relaxation and Overnight.

Day 10: Drive Back to Kampala City or Entebbe

You will have breakfast and later return to Kampala/Entebbe having lunch along the way in Mbarara/Visit the Uganda Equator and eventually reach Kampala/Entebbe late in the afternoon. You will be transferred directly to the airport for your outbound flight back home or transferred to your accommodation if you do not have a flight this evening. In case of a flight this Evening, we do recommend you book flights above 7pm.
